Senior Buyer Dining & Bedroom

Location: Dundalk, Ireland

We are seeking an experienced, creative and driven Senior Buyer to join the Vida Team. You will
develop our product range for the retail and contract furniture market, sourcing from our supply base
across Asia. You will have experience within the furniture industry and an understanding of contract
residential requirements, have product design experience and have collaborated with furniture
designers.

Role objective:

Ownership of product development and commercial product range for all market
channels. Your role will involve design, development, sourcing and managing the
buying cycle for the company.

Key accountabilities:

Strategy
• Work closely with our Creative Director and executive team, strategise and develop a
commercial product range plan for each of our revenue markets
• Analyse historical sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to anticipate product
needs.
• Develops a deep understanding of the customer base by going into the market place.
• Manage the buying cycle and drive maximum product profitability/gross margin within each
product line.
• Using best practice processes and procedures to source products and manage supply
partners.
• Identify and collaborate with supply partners to understand manufacturing strengths and
negotiate favourable conditions in terms of pricing, quality standards, MOQs and payment
terms.
• Maintain and manage product development timelines to meet project deadlines ePectively.
• Analyise data and make recommendations that actively contribute to the building of the
range framework for each season. (cull/remove underperforming ranges in a timely manner)
• Manage the product lifecycle and planning for its end of life
• Providing an appropriate level of trend and customer insights that can be shared with
relevant teams to aid decision making and gain buy in for ideas

Trade and Analytics
• Collaborate with the merchandise and sales team to provide supply partners with indicative
volumes and inventory strategy for new products
• Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to devise successful product launch strategies
and promotional campaigns.
• Ensures that the new ranges are ordered, and any issues solved in a timely fashion to ensure
that all range achieves the season launch dates.
• Own, maintain and make available all product specification and price information at launch

Supplier Management
• Regularly visit trade shows and suppliers in Asia in line with the needs of the buying cycle.
• Resolving issues that may arise protecting product critical path, ensuring availability of
samples and stock at launch
• Regularly communicate to supply partners to ensure that key messages and terms of
business are communicated clearly.
• Driving, adapting and adjusting product strategy based on trade performance
• Ensure all products comply with UK/EU legislation, clearly marked, packaged, and supplied
to agreed specification in alignment with QHSE Policy.

Key Skills
• Constantly seeking opportunities to improve the processes by which the buying cycle and
team operate.
• Has a proven track record with minimum of 5 years furniture experience, and 3 years buying
experience within a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrating a global mindset, discussing and sharing opportunities and risks with other
depts to influence strategy and drive performance
• A broad knowledge of Asia manufacturer/suppliers and current furniture trends
• Excellent technical furniture knowledge
• Experience and understanding of the product design and development processes
• Demonstrates a commercial and creative mindset, using data and insights to leverage
opportunities that successfully contribute to the business
• Shows strong awareness of current trends, market conditions and opportunities within a
Global context
• Builds great relationships with internal stakeholders and supply partners
• Has an effective and inclusive management style, role modelling positive behaviours
• Has flexibility to accommodate international business travel in line with the buying cycle.
